CHANGE is a Good Thing?

So, I lost my dad on the first of this year. He was a big man in both stature and in personality and an even bigger presence in my life. He always called it how he saw it; laid it all out there whether it was easy to hear or not. And I loved that about him; at least you ALWAYS knew what he thought and where you stood with him. Sometimes it wasn't easy to hear the truth, but the truth, no matter how raw, was what you would get from Dad. "Suck it up," "That's life and it ain't fair," and "You're going settle for that?" are phrases I still hear in my head quite frequently, here or not. Even though I hear him, it's still killing me. Dad would say, "Get yourself out there and show 'em what you got." And that is what I've done. I've sucked it up; I've realized that life isn't fair, and I've decided that I'm NOT going to settle. But he's not here to finally celebrate that, so I have to say, "Hey, Dad, it took me a LONG time to come around, but I FINALLY get it. " So as I adapt to my new life without my dad, go here to learn more avout the other changes educators are facing. http://nyawducationalreform.wikiospaces.com/
